On-screen talents and an impeccable sense of style have elevated Anne Hathaway into the upper ranks of red carpet celebrity. Despite turmoil in her personal life, the Rachel Getting Married star made it to almost every award show in the 2009 season, and bewitched us with her beauty and fashion sense.

Let’s review Miss Hathaway’s outfits at each of this year’s award shows:

The 14th Annual Critic’s Choice Awards

Hathaway started the season in a black-and-cream strapless number by Gianfranco Ferre, complemented by a golden-buckled belt around her waist. To accessorize, she chose Brian Atwood peep-toe heels and Cartier loop-earrings.

The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards

Anne hit the red carpet in a dazzling, strapless Armani Prive gown. The midnight blue gown was decorated with Swarovski crystal on the corset, and a flowering chiffon skirt. Anne kept it classic with a low bun and her trademark soft-red lips.

The 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards

The 26-year-old star appeared in a pristine white Grecian-inspired Azzaro gown with a crystal studded gold neckline and waistband. Subtle Cartier jewelry and a Christian Louboutin clutch and matching shoes completed the ensemble.

Film Independent Spirit Awards

The Female Lead Spirit Award nominee looked classy and sober in a Rodarte Spring 2006 RTW dress. She accessorized her peach-cream outfit with a chunky diamond ring and black peep-toes.

The 81st Annual Academy Awards

Anne Hathaway was the woman of the evening in this pearly white Armani Prive strapless number accented with rhinestones. Cartier diamond watch-bracelets and earrings sparkled on this glamour girl who further accessorized with matching Casadei pumps and a Roger Vivier clutch.

The latest buzz in the fashion industry…Anne Hathaway is replacing Victoria Beckham as Marc Jacobs’s fashion muse. The Rachel Getting Married star has reportedly developed a close friendship with the maverick designer who promised to design her dresses for the upcoming red carpet events this year.

Anne is fast becoming the new style icon on the red carpets, and Marc is allegedly looking for a new face for his ads. No papers have been signed, but it’s likely that Miss Hathaway could star in Jacobs’ next campaign.

The 15th annual Screen Actors Guild Award Show was a colorful extravaganza of fashion – the hottest stars appeared in this season’s brightest colors.

Eva Longoria was spotted in a peachy number from the Jenny Packham Spring 2009 Collection – the chunky turquoise neckline created a nice contrasting effect. Sergio Rossi heels and a Ted Rossi clutch completed the look.

Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was stunning in her Monique Lhuillier Pre-Fall 2009 teal gown. The Whatever Works star sported antique jewelry and a Sergio Rossi purple clutch.

Christina Hendricks

The lady in red, Christina Hendricks looked amazing in a sassy crimson Carolina Herrera number with a ruffled neckline. Men will go mad for this Mad Men star.

Christina Applegate

Christina Applegate looked dashing in a lively emerald green Emanuel Ungaro prom dress. The Samantha Who? star made a bold statement with extra large diamond earrings and a long platinum fob chain from Lorain Schwartz.

Holly Hunter

Holly Hunter added a touch of pink at the red carpet with her fuchsia pink strapless number from the Reem Acra Spring 2009 Collection. The Best Actress nominee for Saving Grace carried the pink drapes gracefully by limiting her accessories to a pair of dangling earrings.

Frieda Pinto was spotted in a lilac Marchesa Halter neck gown. The playful soft drapes were flattering on the petite actor. A silver clutch, diamond drop earrings and minimal makeup completed the look.

Viola Davis succeeded in turning heads with this vibrant yellow number from the David Meister Spring 2009 Collection.

Nicolette Sheridan dazzled in an asymmetric Roberto Cavalli gown. The Desperate Housewives star seemed desperate to grab attention with her shocking blue drapes and giant gold fish bracelet.

However, this break up is the perfect chance for Shia LaBeouf to get out of the friend-zone with his Transformers 2 co-star.

The duo were spotted together at LaBeouf’s film premier, and they’ve been known to express their admiration for each other publicly. Supposedly, Fox was quite excited about their on-screen romance in the Transformer’s sequel, and who could forget her remark, “Shia is the best kisser ever”.

Madonna’s Adoption Bid for Another Malawi Child Rejected

A disappointed Madonna returned to London childless after the Malawian government rejected her plea to adopt 4-tear-old orphan Chifundo Mercy James. The Malawian court fears that supporting such an adoption bid would result in the trafficking of Malawian children. The pop star’s adoption attempt caused a furor in the small African country, especially among the nation’s NGOs, who want to see the child reunited with her own family.

Madonna and her former husband Guy Ritchie have already adopted David Banda from the same country. After a prolonged legal proceeding, it seems as if Madonna’s effort to bring home a sister for her Malawian son will go in vain.

Secret Romance – Mickey Rourke and Courtney Love?

The latest buzz in Hollywood is that Mickey Rourke, coming off a Best Actor win at the 2009 Orange British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), is engaged in secret relationship with Courtney Love, the controversy queen. Both of them showed up to the Elle Style Awards 2009, where Courtney was chosen Woman of the Year.

The duo has been reportedly seeing each other for three weeks. They’ve know each other for years and Courtney has been openly supportive of Mickey in his bad times. But it seems they’ve gotten much closer (how much?). A close friend of Courtney’s says that Ms. Love finds Mickey “quite compelling”.

We’re assuming that their relationship is intimate. But why so much hush hush about it all? If we know anything about Courtney, she loves to get into noisy affairs. From her posing naked for a British pop magazine, to her missing-then-returned diamond earrings, she loves the spotlight.

Is Courtney keeping quiet as a courtesy to Mickey? Fresh off his stunning performance in The Wrestler, Mickey Rourke is officially back in Hollywood’s good graces. The 56-year-old once aspired to be like Al Pacino, instead falling down a path of drug addiction.

Although Mickey himself is no stranger to controversy (remember when he quit acting to become a professional boxer), he fought hard to get back onto the Hollywood A-list. Rourke says he doesn’t want to jeopardize his career again, so perhaps that explains all of the relationship secrecy…

Rihanna and Chris Brown 2009 Grammy Awards No Shows

The 2009 Grammy Awards,was full of great performances, but the most memorable act of the night is the one that didn’t happen. Nominees Rihanna and Chris Brown were scheduled to perform at the Staples Center in L.A., but were nowhere to be found.

Rihanna was allegedly heard fighting with boyfriend Chris Brown on Saturday night (February 7) – at one point calling 911 during the fight. Rihanna was later taken to a medical center in LA with bruises and bite marks on her face and arms. Unfortunately, Rihanna had to cancel her upcoming concert in Kuala Lumpur as well as her 21st birthday party. What happens to Chris Brown remains to be seen.

Orlando Bloom – Down Under with Girlfriend Miranda

Orlando Bloom, playing rock star in the upcoming Sympathy for Delicious, flew to Sydney, Australia on February 9 to rendezvous with his model girlfriend Miranda Kerr. The 32-year-old Hollywood hunk attended the 2009 David Jones Autumn/Winter Fashion Show, watching Miranda taking the ramp in prom dresses.

We hear that the couple intends to spend some time in Australia through Valentines Day. Happy V-Day Orly!
